Oh that is good news, I hope he can be mature enough to maintain it despite differences.

Hi Roz, I just read your blog. It seems like you should write a book about you and taxes *laughs* (I remember in your previous job taxes and reliable people were also an issue). *smile* Hope things improve. Also go easy on me on the thread about child support eh! tongue.gif

I just wanted to offer my sympathies because I am very familiar with your scenario. I worked for a CPA for 11 years and so I can easily feel your pain.

I'm really getting tired of this job.

Ah yes, it gets old doesn't it? My first couple of tax seasons (several years ago), I actually had to type the W2's by hand! That will give you a clue to how long ago it was. Computers certainly make it easier, but nothing will compensate for a lack of manpower. (or should I say womanpower?) I agree that it is completely unfair to quit an accounting firm during tax season. During my last tax season, I held down two jobs so that I wouldn't have to quit during her busy season. After tax season was over, she took me to lunch and gave me a huge bonus and that's when I told her I was going to quit. That was almost as bad and made me feel horribly guilty but my mind was made up. I wonder had she known if she would have given me as much of a bonus, I doubt it. Anyway, good luck and feel better. I will all be over in 64 days.

Introduction FarSeer

Wow, empathy! I remember those hand-typing days. My job with a CPA I worked for many years ago (among other things) was to type the corporate tax returns. They had the individual returns available by computer, but not the corp. That was some 20 years ago!

Would that our company was at least grateful at the end of tax season. They generally give a little bonus at the end of the year, but it's not as generous as I think it should be, given how hard we all work.

I'm tired of deadlines, deadlines, deadlines, and no real appreciation for what we do. If they would even just respond to my requests for help - just *acknowledge* that I've asked for help! - I could feel a little better. But they are willing to let me slog through all this work basically by myself until we get so far behind that the clients start complaining. I think I could handle it all much better if the owners were more appreciative.

Hey, maybe they *want* me to quit? And this is their message? Hmm. Something to ponder.

Thanks for your "been there" thoughts smile.gif

FarSeer Introduction

Hi Farseer, glad to see you are better, good to have you back, we've missed you!
That horrible virus that you've had sounds like the one that is knocking people off their feet over here too, and it seems to linger and come back..not nice at all, and I sympathize with you. I don't know how you manage to juggle things as well as you do! Thanks for your message to me today, I intended replying to you earlier but got side tracked.
Take care, best wishes, Diane.

Hi farseer, I was sorry to read that you're going through a rough deal with things at the moment, I hope you'll be feeling a lot better soon!
Sounds like you're taking it a lot better than I would!
The ibuprofin works a lot better if you're ankle has had a 'warm soak' first I believe, because the pores are open and it gets absorbed better., or so I am informed by my hubby who has to use it regularly.
Hope you're feeling better soon, best wishes, Diane.

Thank you, Diane, I'm actually much better today. Some bruising showed up a couple of days after the fact, which I thought was wierd, but not a lot. I think I was very lucky to have been spared the hassle of a plaster cast for 6-8 weeks!

Take care,
Roz
