It's all about *time*,
JB. Everything is so busy! Both jobs,
plus the
singles program is starting to become more involved - I actually got a rep in one ward who is doing a great job of talking to folks and getting them out to activities, and a married couple has offered us their home for FHE. So I'm suddenly more involved in all of that. The apartment building is going okay, still crazy, but not as bad in the past few months. However, there is a huge software conversion going on for the management of the building that is very involved.
Then, of course, I went and spoke to a counselor at the college about my options to get started in school and what it will take to get my bachelor's degree. She says 3 to 5 years, depending on how many credits I take per semester. Longer than I had hoped, but at least it's a start, and a goal I can focus on. But, really, that means I have to quit one of my jobs. I can't see carrying even part time classes with the load I already have. So, if I quit the apartments, I have to move.... and that makes the most sense, because the regular job actually pays the bills. I've spent many hours looking at rentals, and they are way too high for me to afford. Some houses for sale are looking promising, but most are in bad shape (fixer-uppers) and would take a lot of work to get live-able. Isn't that crazy? Cheaper to buy than to rent?!? Banks have repossessed a lot of these houses, which is why they need fixing so bad - people just left them without caring anymore.
My son is doing great, managing the sporting goods store. He's also talking about going back to school, because he wants to coach football. We don't see him much, but we took him out for his birthday and had a great visit.
My daughter had her 10th birthday in September. We went to the L.A. county fair, and I have a great picture of her to upload to the gallery. She's in 5th grade now, and will be going on a camp out with the school up in the mountains for 3 days starting tomorrow. Very exciting - her first non-family trip ever!
So. That's my life in a nutshell. Thanks for asking.
