Introduction FarSeer

Hi, LDS_Forever ~~ I'm doing okay, still sore and stiff, but I've dispensed with the cane and can get around better now. It was actually not as bad as it could have been, and I know I'm blessed in that.

I would love to play in Medieval, but you've seen my activity lately - dismal! Two jobs, it's tax season, I still have 5 vacant apartments, and my family are all clamoring for my attention. It's been a bit overwhelming. So I can't really commit to the demands of the game right now, sorry, but good luck in the next round smile.gif

Love ya,
Roz

Introduction FarSeer

Hi Roz. I just read your blog. It must be that I went through so many changes in my life that I am no longer afraid of change, whatever the outcome. Sounds like I gave up eh? laugh.gif

You have been talking about this for a very long time and I think you should follow what you think is best for you and your family and of course asking the Lord for guidance in your decisions. It will require a lot of Faith but I know you will be able to do anything you want to be and I know the Lord will bless you along the way so there is no need to fear.

Keep us update and do not let TIME pass!

FarSeer Introduction

I so appreciate your cheering me on, LDS_Forever! I get so wrapped up in the day-to-day routine that I forget my life is slipping away... with nothing to show for it. No goals, no dreams... just plodding along. So this is a big change for me, to raise my head up above the fog and peer into the future.

I see a better me, and if not a better life, at least a different life from the rut we are living in now.

Certainly, I will keep you updated on my progress as I further define my goals.

Thanks for the encouragement smile.gif
Roz

FarSeer, what is up with you these days, I see you on and off, but seldom active save for today. How is the daughter, son, and crazy apartment building?

Check out this and give a vote, it does not require constant participation, but the more people we get adding up to five votes the more likely the story is to continue: Temple of Flame. You merely have to place a vote and nothing more.

It's all about *time*, JB. Everything is so busy! Both jobs, plus the singles program is starting to become more involved - I actually got a rep in one ward who is doing a great job of talking to folks and getting them out to activities, and a married couple has offered us their home for FHE. So I'm suddenly more involved in all of that. The apartment building is going okay, still crazy, but not as bad in the past few months. However, there is a huge software conversion going on for the management of the building that is very involved.

Then, of course, I went and spoke to a counselor at the college about my options to get started in school and what it will take to get my bachelor's degree. She says 3 to 5 years, depending on how many credits I take per semester. Longer than I had hoped, but at least it's a start, and a goal I can focus on. But, really, that means I have to quit one of my jobs. I can't see carrying even part time classes with the load I already have. So, if I quit the apartments, I have to move.... and that makes the most sense, because the regular job actually pays the bills. I've spent many hours looking at rentals, and they are way too high for me to afford. Some houses for sale are looking promising, but most are in bad shape (fixer-uppers) and would take a lot of work to get live-able. Isn't that crazy? Cheaper to buy than to rent?!? Banks have repossessed a lot of these houses, which is why they need fixing so bad - people just left them without caring anymore.

My son is doing great, managing the sporting goods store. He's also talking about going back to school, because he wants to coach football. We don't see him much, but we took him out for his birthday and had a great visit.

My daughter had her 10th birthday in September. We went to the L.A. county fair, and I have a great picture of her to upload to the gallery. She's in 5th grade now, and will be going on a camp out with the school up in the mountains for 3 days starting tomorrow. Very exciting - her first non-family trip ever!

So. That's my life in a nutshell. Thanks for asking.
