LDS: I'd like that I'm working longer hours (it's tax season), but I'm trying to get on here at least once a day. Is it still the same scenario, or are we moving on? Well, I'll check that out whilst I'm here ...

I posted this in your blog by mistake. It is a comment relative to your recent post there:

FarSeer, maybe it will help you to get over the anger if you just remember it wasn't directed at you personally. Unfortunately, sometimes the government goes overboard in it's efforts to protect children. It is inconvenient, but in the end, they had your daughter's best interest at heart. I am sure they didn't contact you first because it is probably against the rules. The rules are in place because somewhere along the line somebody has identified as being hurt, neglected or abused through this process. The part that was directed towards you was positive. Her teacher said positive things.

I do agree, though that the report should have been read in advance, but who knows maybe she is overloaded. Social workers these days are given way more cases to handle than is reasonable. I am sure even if she had read the report in advance, the rules probably would have still required her to have the meeting.

Don't take this as defending the procedure, I am not. I would be just as annoyed by it as you. I am just trying to help you see it in a more positive light, if that is possible.

I understand where you're coming from, and I know we are taught to obey the rules and be subject to government entities.

Part of my anger is how the system has to be in place, in the first place, because families are not taking care of their own. How intrusive, invasive, and over-reaching government is now because families are not taking care of their own. It angers me that some children are in horrible circumstances -- and that children who are not, and somehow get "red-flagged" for one reason or another, end up getting investigated for no reason. [[Perhaps this should be a new thread?]]

I wish you could have seen that woman in the interview -- so sure that she was right, she had the all-seeing power of Sacramento behind her, and that I was just some ignoramus trying to jerk HER around... what's the word I'm looking for?? Sanctimonious. Self-righteous. And on top of that, condescending.

I hate public school. If I can find an alternative, I will get her out of there so fast!!

I truly thank you for your comments, tena, and your friendship. I'm trying really hard to get over this.
