FarSeer Introduction - Page 76

I think I would not go see that side of the family until you know for sure that the mean brother is not going to be around. I dealt with one like this and the first time I knocked him out. That did not help much. I have not visited that side of the family since. If they want to see me they have to come to my place and HE is not allowed to set foot on my property. I hope it gets better for you. Sorry your daughter had to see and hear all of that.

Introduction FarSeer

Definitely a good idea. The guy has some serious anger management issues, yes? My daughter was upset, but we talked about how alcohol can affect some people, and we discussed it with her dad, too.

We won't be visiting over there anytime soon, regardless of Christmas festivities they have planned. Which is really sad! Why should my daughter have to miss out on that with her family, just because of ONE bad seed? I just can't risk HER being the object of HIS hate towards me, so she will NOT go over there without me. Maybe we will meet with the grandparents and her dad on another day.

I read your blog. I was kind of surprised you even started a conversation with a guy that is intoxicated or you wasn't aware he was drunk? The guy sounds like an absolute NUTS, I am sorry you and Julie has to experience such a crude and rude behavior.

The whole family over there drinks. It's impossible to have any kind of visit without talking to someone who is drunk. And there are different levels of drunk... he had just awoken from a "nap" so I figured he was semi-sober after sleeping some of it off. Actually, all I did was comment on his remark about Obama... and for some unknown and probably unrelated reason that just set him off. I won't forget it, and that is the last time we spend any time around that guy.

Introduction FarSeer

How terrible for your little girl. There obviously were no men there to slap him in the face. If I were there we would have been a few eyes apart and I would be hoping that he made a first move.

FarSeer Introduction

Farseer I have no words that can state all I felt on this and is why I waited a day to respond. I feel very much for you both and staying away is hard but a good choice.

I hope he sees his errors and takes them to heart for his sake and yours. Find others and surround yourself this season with people who care. The whole think just stinks.

I am with you on that part JB. IF I was there he may have found himself face down on the carpet in cuffs. But I feel what she did by leaving was more of a statement.

FarSeer I would not want your daughter to miss out on Christmas with her grand parents this is why you simply tell them they need to come to your place for Christmas for now on WITHOUT that jerk. If they do not want that and can not live by your rules so they are not drinking then you may be better off without them.

This reminds me of a saying I heard once. "If you give a relative $20 and never see them again is it money well spent?" We can not pick our relatives but we can choose which ones we associate with.

You guys are awesome. Thank you for your support and kind words. I haven't talked to any of the family since that night, and I wonder what else happened after we left. He's not the sort of fellow to just "see the error of his ways," though, so I doubt that anything changed. I kind of feel sorry for the rest of the family for having to deal with him mouthing off all night.... but not too much wink.gif I mean, after all, no one stepped up to make him shut up when he was insulting me and scaring my daughter, did they?

We'll visit the grandparents on a different day, maybe Christmas Eve or the day after Christmas, when Danny's not there, and we'll enjoy our visit then.

Thank you again for your support.
