Hang in there Farseer and know we are praying for you. When my job used to drag me down I would try to find one thing at work each day to make me smile or laugh.

Not sure if it was a good thing but often it was my boss who made laugh the most unfortunately it was at him. Bit of a think head and comments made by others often caused a silly response form him. Nice working under a buffoon.

Just read your blog and I know that depression can strike anyone any time. I am glad to hear that your seeking to better yourself and that your daughter is doing well. I hope that life keeps shining on you with warmth and I think the extra 20 lbs will melt away quickly. I know I have had a set back on my weight loss when I found I had gained 15 lbs. Now I need to work at getting those added pounds off. We are somewhat in the same boat there.

Keep your head up and your shoulders back so you can face the world and meet all it has for you head on. I am sure that you will find life is still wonderful.

I found I wasn't able to post in my blog, but I wanted to vent a little bit. After 40 years together, my dad -- who recently started going to a Pentecostal church -- tells my mother that he can't continue to live with her because of her strange religious beliefs. What the heck? So, my 75-year-old parents will be separating some time in the next two months.

Breaking marriage vows for Jesus. I'm just sick about it, and my mother is heartbroken. I think dad has lost his mind, completely.

How am I supposed to tell my sisters and my kids? The next few weeks will be very difficult for our family.

Looks like someone has been brainwashing him. Without stereotyping - the Pentecostals have been known to be a big pusher of anti-Mormon literature and videos. I hope added to this it wasn't someone that batted their eyes in that church. Too bad.

I agree - I hope it's not some sweet young thing turning his head. My poor mom is going through such a range of emotions -- anger, deep sorrow, worrying about how he's going to take care of himself financially, back to anger. I've tried to be angry, but I keep realizing that he's gone insane and all I feel is compassion for them both.

One of the things he says he can't believe is people living in family units in heaven. He says we're all to be genderless beings living separately, but all in a state of eternally praising God. How is that better than being with your loving family? Anyway. I've put in a call to his pastor, anonymously, to find out what in the heck they are teaching over there. Let's see if he replies.

Roz, I'm so sorry to hear about your parents! I thought the fact that both were going to Church (even though different ones) that will unite them more than separate them. Sorry but it does sound like he met someone he likes in that church and wants to be "free". How heartbreaking! Is there a way to reason with him?
