Sol, I also thought it would unite them. I suppose it's possible that he's found another woman, but maybe he really feels exactly as he says. I've been thinking that his stated reason is so far beyond what we think is normal that we're all trying to justify his behavior into something we can make sense of.

I left a message for his pastor/minister to call me, but haven't heard back yet. I haven't had a chance yet to ask my dad any questions directly. I plan to do that this weekend some time.

I hope that after talking to your dad that some sort of reason prevails and he will give up this separation. I would not know what to think if my dad said something like that to my mom. I hope you get some answers.

Jeepers that is bad news, sorry to hear this. One thing I will mention that is very important that I hope you can use to ring his bell back to reality is what a marriage actually is.

Marriage has nothing to what is done in public as the first binding was done without ceremony other then God said it is good for Adam to have a life mate and helper. The bonding ceremony so as to speak is when you first lie with you life. What is really neat about this is it is a blood sealed deal. The first of its kind and only happens three times or s in the old testament! It has nothing to do with church or Jesus. It is flesh being reunited as one bringing two souls together to share one body with God as its head. Sorry twice in old testament and once in the new t4estement yes I speak of the sacrifice with Jesus. I hope if you remind him of this he might take things more serious in reconsidering his actions. God can heal all.

Well, I put my mom on a plane to Sacramento to stay with my sister for awhile. Meanwhile, my mother has set into motion the official splitting up. She says even if he comes to his senses, she is realizing that it's all for the best that they split and she's nearly euphoric. (I don't think that will last, but there it is.) So I'm following her directions and getting her an apartment and canceling utilities, etc.

I called my dad and he is behaving as if nothing is happening out of the ordinary. My daughter and I will go see him tomorrow and "hang out" while we do some laundry and see if he needs anything.

It's all just so strange. Thank you all for your support.

Honestly, JB, I just don't have a lot to say these days. With my family scattered and work so crazy, I'm not thinking about anything very clearly. Then, my aunt died on Christmas Eve morning, so we're in St. George right now with family. I appreciate so much what you do here and how hard you work, and I feel guilty sometimes for not participating as much as I used to. Maybe someday when my life changes in a different direction
