Pandora Introduction - Page 41

Thank you for the birthday greeting. There are so many neat people to read about on this site that my poor wife has gone to bed by her self...again.

LDS I enjoy your candid writing. You seem like an open person that would be a pleasure to talk to.

I am semi-retired. I live in the south end of the San Joaquin Valley in California just 100 miles north of Los Angeles. My wife and I are certified farmers market. She grows wonderful vegetables and I have a flock of chickens, so we stay busy.

Thanks again for the greeting.

Introduction Pandora

That's wonderful! I would love to grow my own vegetables and have animals all around. I think life was so much meaningful in the old times where the whole family was involved in those things.
Since you talked a little about you, let me tell you a little bit about me. I am from Argentina, I was born and raised there, I have been an LDS member for almost 20 years. I am a Spanish high-school teacher and I live in a tiny apartment here in Trinidad. I am expecting my second child this July and the whole family is excited about it.
I noticed that many people within the forum and out of the forum say that I am "candid", I always like to express my views just as they are. Sadly enough, sometimes is interpreted as being too aggressive when in fact the intention is just to make a strong point without becoming rude. I am the same way while talking.

So what do you do for fun? smile.gif

I decided a long time ago that if I behaved myself and had no ulterior motive other than just being me when I am candid, I have more fun in life. I also seem to collect candid friends, so I never stop to think, "Now what did they mean by that statement?" The other rule I live by is KISS Keep It Simple Stupid

Fun? My wife and I enjoy each others company. We both enjoy growing and going to market. We enjoy the little things like watching the weather change, beautiful flowers, and our pets, but most of our life is centered around work. When I married Anne we were both losing businesses we owned due to the economy. Then we came up with our highest paid jobs ever working for a Japanese flight training academy. We bought 20 acres in the foothills, drilled a well, and built a very conservative dream home. After a few years we were downsized because of Japan's economy. Anne bought a business she still owns and has made very successfull and I work part time. Because of our ages ( 69 & 62) my financial genious/wife has us struggling to make double payments to pay off the house before she retires. This makes it a little tough financially.

Oh! Back to fun. We don't spend money to have fun except a short sight seeing trip occasionally. Even then we take a picnic lunch to save. I fill my spare time writing, singing in the church choir, and sitting on this computer.

I hope I'm not way out of line asking this. I haven't yet had time to read the complete raves on my favorite people, so I'll just ask. Two people on this site are expecting in July. Are you both expecting the same baby?

Gotta run. It's market day and I haven't loaded the truck yet.

Take care.

Yes, JB is my husband and both of us are "pregnant" wink.gif We are expecting a boy in July. You can check the thread that talks about it here:

I was surprised to read your age! You sound so much younger! I suppose nature, work and a great wife keep you young and vibrant. *smile*

Introduction Pandora

Ahhh! Now the lights are on. I kept picking up bits and pieces of information, but I was afraid to just ask. I didn't want to offend by asking a stupid question.

You're probably right about Anne keeping me young. I learned very soon after we met that if I stayed around I would often stand in her shadow. She is the most talented, intelligent, human I have ever had the pleasure to be around. She is a graduate anthropologist, sails and navigates by the stars, ham radio operator, marine insurance broker, commercial pilot, gardener, cook, seamstress, etc, etc. She will soon turn 62 and climbing mental mountains doesn't interest her any more.

Me? I'm just the tractor driver and I like it that way cause I'm the best tractor driver on this farm. .

Life is never dull around here and I intend to stay because the food is so good.

Take care of your self.

Keith

I just read your blog and wanted to let you know that all of you are in our prayers. I can't describe how excited I am for you as you are so close to having a new little one around but I can only imagine the difficulty levels. I am currently recommending JB as web designer to one of my larger customers but they have yet to make a decision. Cherry and I are here for you so feel free to let us know if there is anything that we can do to help as we will be happy to help any way that we can.

Thank you Billy, you're very kind. I really appreciate your words. Just keep us in your prayers that the Lord may open hidden or new "doors" in order to accomplish the things we need right away.

Tell your sweet wife, thank you also.
