Since the beginning Publisher has always been better at handling documents than Word or at least creating them but because MS Office was mostly set as the default publishing application in businesses people just stuck with Word instead of trying something different. Now there is open Office and its free!

Really? I remember using Publisher to create brochures 7 or 8 years back. Now, the MS Word on my Mac has a Publisher mode, but I rarely use it. I prefer Apple's Pages, as the results are more aesthetically pleasing.
