I have had surgery 7 times as an adult. Knee surgery twice, a c-section to have my son, 3 surgery's for female type problems, 1 arm/wrist surgery.
My wrist doctor told me I demand more out of my body than it was designed to give!
I am subject to the most preventable cause of death in the top ten causes of death in the USA (it ranks 8th). My diagnosis is severe depression with psychosis, and I am suicidal. There's even a bridge within two miles of my house that people committing suicide use, because there's at least a 500 foot fall to solid ground below. If it weren't for my cats, I wouldn't be alive today. I stay alive for them, not for myself. Sitting here at the internet is just a way to pass the time each day. I really don't enjoy anything anymore. I've given up on reading, and I don't socialize. I don't even like leaving my house. I've already decided on how I'm going to end my life. Its just a matter of time.
Jeff, I suggest you get some medication from your psychaitrist. Depression is treatable. If the fiirst drug you try doesn't work, keep trying others till you find one that does. I personally know people who suffer from this disease. I know they too have been in as much despair as you. Some are more successfully being treated than others, but the key really is to keep trying.
I believe the answer is really more in the antidepressant meds than in talking to the shrink.
jeffgson -- I hope that was a professional diagnosis, and not self-diagnosed. If so, that professional is there to help you! Please continue to consult with your doctor -- life doesn't have to be like what you describe. If you have self-diagnosed, please seek professional help.
Choose life, my friend.
