But I do know "kids" that are 18, 19, 20 that have no clue what any of that stuff is about. |

lol well duh..course im old...dont know why people have to be afraid of gettin older it is a natural aspect of life u are born u live and u die..dont know why someone would wanna live forever either...i think growin older with dignity insetad of being mortified by the concept of aging lends u a different kind of beauty one tha is much more precious in my mind..i dont know why some people promote old age as somethin to be avoided at all costs...hence the surgeries and the tucks here and there...my grandmother is about 78 years and to me she is one of the most beautiful people i have ever seen...

I was living in Alaska when it became a state. I was 9 years old. I watched as the 2 engine planes dropped confetti over the islands and heard the air raid sirens going and saw the people in the streets jumping and running screaming happily. Not too many people can say they were there when a new state was born. I remember when a loaf of bread was $ .19 cents, a candy bar was $ .05 cents. I remember when not everyone owned a TV and when there were only a very few channels. It is so cool to remember things that the 'new' generations haven't learned about yet!

I was around when Beatniks were cool, remember Dobie Gillis? And I had a reel to reel player not an 8track. In Jr. High school we sock-hopped to 45 and 78's. Listened to Petula Clark croon out to Dear Sir. I wouldn't trade my youth for anything. Romance was truly romance back then. The songs made sense, they told a story and you could look at your partners face when you danced with him. And I still prefer most movies to be in black and white. Gives your imagination a chance to really work!
I may be born in 1987....but i know what most of those are. My dad has a record player still and like 100 records. We never listen to em because i generally don't like the music he likes...There are some things i've never experienced like not having a remote and only 13 channels but alot of my friends that are my age only have 3 channels (they live on farms) so count yourself lucky.
Sadly, we don't learn about tianemen or the gulf war. We only learn about Russia and the cold war. Her ein Canada, basically if it doesn't have to do with us we don't learn it.
