Why Can't Goats Get No Respect?

In one of Jesus" parables, he compares sheep to the righteous and goats to those who will cursed with everlasting fire. I understand the moral lesson he teaches, but I don't understand why he picks on the goats. What's so bad about goats?

I have a goat and she is stubborn as heck.
I love goats mind you, but they wander where they are not supposed to be, have to be dragged everywhere if they choose not to move, and they will eat almost anything, even garbage. I can see why Christ would want to compare the disobedient to goats (even though they make great pets).
