Congress to rule carry-on size
Tired of overhead bins stuffed to the point of bursting, some frequent fliers say they would welcome a strictly enforced limit on the size of carry-ons that is being proposed in Congress. Legislation proposed by Rep. Dan Lipinski, D-Ill., would set a federal standard for the maximum size of bags a passenger can carry on board - a decision currently left to each airline. Ref. Source 5
I do not think that our government should be telling us what size our carry on should be. This is something the airline industry should do and keep big brother out of it. The government has their hands into too much as it is and we need to lessen the amount of stuff the government is in.
Sometimes you get these people carrying suitcase size looking carry ons and you think to yourself like are you for real? I hate it when they tower it over your head too and you're like don't drop that on my head!
Yes all airlines have a requirement that your carry on will either fit under your seat or in the over head compartment. Everyone of the airlines has a carry one size check next to either their boarding gate or the ticket counter. It is the people who think that they are exempt from this carry on size that holds it up and causes us to wait. I think if everyone followed the same rules life would be much easier when flying.
