Fibromyalgia arthritis
What do you know of this form of arthritis that is due to defective neurotransmitter function in the brain?
What is your experience on this type of illness?
My husband suffers from this, and it is a very painful illness to have to suffer.
The strange thing about it is that it can attack most parts of the body, and not all at once.
When I say this, I mean that for around 3 weeks, you could be in constant pain with fibromyalgia in the shoulder, this may ease off, and instead, it could become inflamed and problematic in your arm or your back.
My husband seems to suffer a lot in his chest, but most of his body he has suffered with this.
There is nothing to cure it, but it comes and goes in degrees, and there is medication that relieves it slightly, but never gets rid of it.
I think my husbands has stemmed from him having fibrositis arthritis when he was just a teenager.I remember him being up and down with the illness, and just after we returned from our honeymoon, he couldn't move out of bed one day, and the whole of his neck was ceased up.
He had to wear a neck brace for a few weeks, and I had to wash and dress him...I thought I was going to have to permanently look after him, but fortunately it eased off after a few weeks, but never went away permanently.
The other downside to Fibromyalgia arthritis seems to be that the is no suppleness of the bones, and therefore somebody suffering with this tends to break more bones than other people.
My husband broke his leg in 2 places in a park when he moved his body but his leg didn't move at the same time and it snapped in 2!
It certainly makes you be very careful and very aware in what you do!
My sister and mother-in-law have both been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. It does not appear to be any fun to have. In addition to the pain they tire more easily and some days have difficulty getting around. One thing that appears to help is sleeping on a memory foam mattress or placing one of those sheep fleece pads under you.
