I was wondering what some of you think about the statements of the Attorney General with regards to Machel Montano? Referring to the scenario when Montano brought on to the stage the world "king and queen" of calypso, "The Mighty Sparrow" and McArtha Linda Sandy-Lewis, better known as "Calypso Rose", the attorney general said:

I hope he's referring to respect towards the elderly, etc because sorry, I don't see anything worthy of emulation in the music or songs or behaviour of Machel Montano. I know some may disagree but...

I cannot understand why so many women love this guy! I don't see anything spectacular about his music. One of his songs, "Working dog," he admitted that he copied the same song that was used on Sesame Street! I cannot believe that! I must admit though, the only songs I ever enjoyed by Machel Montano was "Too Young To Soca" and "Toro, Toro!"

Boy, that case against Montano is a joke. He was winning in court at the request of the lawyer to show the whole incident. How can the case take a serious turn with something like that happening?

I don't understand the purpose of his sentencing. He was found guilty but what he was made to pay is nothing that will 'hurt' him. In other words he got away with it. What kind of message are we sending in this country?

What is the problem with Machel Montano retiring that they have to turn it into political jibes about the upcoming election? Machel Montano is the best and they just can't wait to see the man go so no one else winning consecutively.

Montano said that he wants to win a Grammy and that Soca Monarch is not longer a challenge for him. Well, let me tell you something. I admire the fact that he wants to go international but he has to be careful how he comes across because next he doesn't make it and he will come back quiet quiet to Soca monarch.
