I think even in the deep south in a small town I would smack the person back for striking my child. I know there are parts of the bible belt that still go by some of the old ways. I think we need to get more into those times.

That would have to be the DEEP DEEP south. I have lived in a dry (no alcohol sales) county for quite a while in the Bible Belt. While it is not a small town, I am pretty sure no one would dare do this.
