It's gone mad here! There is so much poverty already, that food banks are opening up all over... This is where food is donated by the public, and anyone with a social services referral can go and be given 3 days worth of food to help them provide food for the family (For free)
Some teachers have even had to supply breakfast for some children out of their own money!
The latest crazy thing announced today by the Government is that they want to ban packed lunches at schools and make children buy a school meal (Which is definitely more expensive)
I don't know how they expect people to live on less money, and yet be able to pay more out.. It doesn't make sense (In my humble opinion)

Hi Mandy, I don't know how they think they can enforce it... But it seems once they decide something, they usually get what they want! It seems crazy to me.

½ UK children in poverty live in cold, damp homes:

The study of 2,000 10-17-year-olds by the Children's Society charity revealed that 76 percent of British children are "Often worried" About how much money the family had. More than 53 percent said their home was too cold last winter and 24 percent said it was "Much colder" Than they would have liked. Ref. Source 1
