Sitting at the Table - Page 3

QUOTE
Of course, in my house, you are lucky if I don't just leave the food in the pans on the stove and tell you to help yourself

laugh.gif that sounds like me wink.gif Since we are only three of us, usually I serve the food and live only the bowl of salad on the table (yes, I have to have a salad always!) and the rest maybe on the stove, depending the mood wink.gif

Table the Sitting

Never put a milk bottle on the table, and never put gravy in a jug...it's always got to go in a gravy boat at the table.
Another thing that I was taught was that food should only be passed from the left to the right, not the other way round as this is considered to be rude!
Don't ask me why..it's probably just one of those British 'quirky' ways of life! laugh.gif

Sitting at the Table Health & Special Psychology

This is my favourite: males are supposed to stand when a lady is arriving or leaving the table. If you notice no one else wants anymore food, don't grab the dishes and empty everything into your plate. Also, no picking of your nose at the table.
