The term Muslimah refers to a Muslim woman in other words a woman who is Muslim. Simply, it is the feminine adjective of a Muslim person. In Arabic, adjectives change according to gender.

Now that's very interesting. Never heard of it. I thought the term "Muslim" applied to both male and female.

LDS_forever, this is the Arabic langugage, for example, Zawj in Arabic means husband, when your refer to the feminine which is wife, you say Zawja. Teacher is Mua`lem and female teacher is a Mua`lmah. And so forth.

If this is Arabic then it will only be used when speaking in Arabic. In English we will use "Muslim" to refer to both a Muslim woman and Muslim man. Do they have a difference in Spanish?
