I have only seen a couple episodes (literally) but I would watch it again. It is a different concept as in she isn't out to kill and exterminate the spirits as with some other tv shows. It seems to have a humane/personal approach. I am not aware if there is a "bigger picture" to the series as yet though, which there usually is as the series gets closer to the end.
Ghost Whisperer - Season 5 Episode 14 - Ned's occult-anthropology professor (Margaret Cho) is stalked by a secret-admirer ghost.
Ghost Whisperer - Season 5 Episode 15 - A ghost tells Melinda about a secret munitions dump containing unexploded bombs, and then reveals that one of the bombs is missing and that someone will die as a result.
I have seen more than a few of these shows. It is a decent show that approaches the afterlife threw ghosts. Meaning the main character shows the spirits the way to heaven threw solving problems lingering from the ghost. Threw the main character passing ghosts on to the afterlife by solving an issue left over. So it is not so much formed around actual ghost lore but uses it to facilitate a deeper meaning to life.
It later in the seasons turns out that there are some big evil ghosts out there that are working against good.
Ghost Whisperer - Season 5 Episode 16 - A routine estate sale lands Melinda in the center of dark forces battling for the soul of a little girl who's been trapped in a violently haunted house for years
Ghost Whisperer - Season 5 Episode 17 - When comic book artist Damon Weaver begins drawing his own run-ins with ghosts before they happen, it is up to Melinda and Avery (Margaret Cho) to discover the secrets behind his art.
