Is it true that government wants to channel what you are allowed to read and learn?

I do not think they will ever be able to do this. Governments and Religion have tried this for centuries and been unsuccessful. Now with the internet knowledge is more open than ever. I do believe that the government, given the opportunity, will reprint every book to suit a political agenda - were it possible.

I don't think and hope it is not true, I never read much when I was younger but since a few years ago I have found myself getting more enjoyment from reading books than I do watching a movie.
But if it is true and they were trying to ban certain books for whatever reason, this would only glorify the book and make people more interested in reading it. Similar with movies that have been banned.
