I think that Minnesota got taken on this deal. The price paid was WAY too little for a guy as talented as Moss. Sure he has problems and creates problems for himself, but they kept him this long and he is the top player at his position! The wide reciever free agent list is pretty thin this year (they really should pick up Burress and Burrelson and Robinson need to be healthy ALL year) and the draft is not deep in WR's this year either. That future pick needs to be a 2nd rounder at least in the 2006 draft!
Harris is a decent LB, but was not even in the top of the available free agents this winter at this position. With the 1st round pick, they probably will go defense again, as this is a glaring hole.
The offense took a HUGE hit. The defense got a bit better, but they still dont have any decent corners. Unless they pull off a fantastic draft or hit free agency a lot harder than they have, it is going to be another rough season in Minnesota. This really hurts because they are my favorite team. I love those underdogs and loveable losers.
By the way, for all the talking TO did, he actually backed it up with his play in the Super Bowl. I thought he was only a loud mouth, but he actually showed me something that day!

I am a rabid Philadelphia Eagles fan. I'm also a 4 for 4 Philadelphia sports fan including the Phillies, Flyers, and Sixers.
The 49er's, as expected, selected Alex Smith with the first pick of the draft, and just yesterday, signed him to one of the biggest rookie deals in NFL history. While I don't expect him to be the savior of the team, I expect good things from him. What I am more excited about is seeing what Mike Nolan, as head coach, can do with the shambles of a defense they displayed last year.
Troy Aikman and Reggie White lead this years Hall of Fame class. The most noticeable absentee was Michael Irvin, who for the second year was shunned by the panel of voters. His off-the-field troubles seem to be still fresh in their minds, and even fellow teammate and NFL rushing leader, Emmitt Smith could not sway their votes. Others to be inducted are John Madden, Warren Moon, Harry Carson and Rayfield Wright.
Tagliabue, 65, to retire as NFL commissioner in July

Paul Tagliabue is retiring as NFL commissioner in July after more than 16 years on the job. "He has been a tremendous asset to our league and the direction we have taken," New Orleans owner Tom Benson said. "We have experienced very positive growth in the area of revenue sharing and broadcast contracts, we have secured long-term labor peace and have also even encountered some of the worst of times following 9/11, but through it all Paul has been a leader, a friend and a voice that many others within our league and other leagues have followed." |
I like the New England Pats. My favorite player is Michael Clayton.
