If Washington Could See Today

If Washington Could See Today

Is it true that if President Washington could see how government rules today tears would flow from his eyes at how much it has changed from the original formation of governance?

What's the exit strategy?

Glenn looks at all the issues of the day and all the mounting evidence that leaves one clear impression: our leaders want to transform America into something else. Something our founders wouldn't have necessarily wanted. Glenn runs down the hit list -- Anita Dunn's love for Mao, Van Jones's love for spreading the wealth, Obama's desire for redistributive change, and on and on and on. Radicals who disagree with the founding principles of America are making their move. Will they succeed? Ref. Source 6

I think that all of the men and women who struggled so much to establish the United States would cry at the way the government no longer even attempts to follow the Constitution. With most of the government consisting of unelected agencies with de facto legislative, judicial, and executive powers regarding regulation, the US government now interferes in all aspects of individuals' lives. That is exactly what they were attempting to prevent with the US Constitution.

Sometimes I wonder who follows the constitution anyway, I mean you have government who is supposed to follow the constitution and does it half way good and then you have everyone else who has their interpretation of how it should be done. It's like religion with everyone saying their interpretation of what the founding fathers wanted is the correct one.

Actually, the Constitution is very clearly worded. There is not a lot of room for personal interpretation, unless you (or rather the courts) are willing to twist things around.

For example, the Constitution clearly states that the President CAN NOT sign a treaty without the consent of 2/3 of the Senate. Yet we have a President that fully intends to go to Copenhagen next month and sign a "climate control" treaty. The thing is, that Congress will likely then start passing more legislation implementing the terms of the treaty, without every approving it.

The Constitution does not, anywhere, allow the government to take money from the productive members of society and give it to unproductive. It doesn't give government the authority to tell a private individual what they can grow in their own garden and consume. It doesn't give government the authority to tell a private company who they can and cannot hire. Yet, through wresting the interstate commerce clause, the US government has taken that authority.

The Constitution reserved ALL power to the individual states, except for those things specifically outlined to the Federal government. But with the conclusion of the American Civil War, the Federal government effectively nullified the 10th Amendment and took all power, and grudgingly allows the states to make some decisions.

The government does not even do a halfway decent job of obeying the Constitution.

That is what all the interpreters say for anything, it is "clearly worded" yet they all get a different version of what "clearly worded" means. Don't get me wrong, I'm not picking on what you're saying I'm merely pointing out that for every argument for there is one against and the winner is the majority or the one with the most money. The system of checks and balances is the system of check amounts you can write and balances you can pay off someone to make it happen.

I've studied that many times and yet the individual states only govern what everyone considers lesser laws of importance, you know marriage, traffic, etc. I bet even if Washigton and the founding fathers came back today they wouldn't be accepted because its all about money. Someone will probably try to hush them.

That is the sad part of it all now. It is the people with the money who run and own this government. That is why it will be easy for those who want to change it will be able to as soon as they get more of the sheeple on their bandwagon. Yes I believe that Washington and the other founding fathers would have tears as they reached for their muskets once again.

Collapsing America
By Linh Dinh

Despite being lied to repeatedly, almost daily, Americans are strangely gullible to incoherent, even ridiculous narratives dished up by their government. Brainwashed by the bromide that their nation is always a force for good, anywhere, worldwide, Americans can't imagine that Washington could be complicit in the murder of its own citizens. Ref.
