What do you think about the first woman golfer to enter the PGA tour? Do you think she has a chance?
From ABC News Nightline:
TONIGHT'S FOCUS: Today Swedish golf sensation Annika Sorenstam became the
first woman to test the men on the PGA Tour since Babe Zaharias in 1945.
At this writing, she is shooting just below par and making history with
every stroke. Will she make the cut and advance in the tournament? Hard
to say. But even if she doesn't, she has re-ignited a debate about
competition between men and women. Some of the male golfers protested the
Tour's decision to allow her in. Why? Even when men and women play and
compete together far more evenly than they ever have in history, why is
this debate still so heated?
Anika Sorenstam definitely opened the door for female golfers in the PGA. Keep the name Michelle Wie in mind, because I think her name will be mentioned quite a bit in the years to come. She is only 14 and already dominating on the amateur and female tours.
