Agree with KNtoran and Nighthawk. The guy did the crime, so now he has to do the time. It is because he is in the limelight and has made great films, that is actually covering up the fact that he drugged and raped a 13 year old. I can't believe there are so many people on his side. Don't they care what he did? 30 years ago? 3 years ago, last year, time doesn't matter when a crime has been committed. And to compare this case to Paris Hilton, is a bit of a stretch, unless you think unpaid parking fines is in the same calibre as rape of a child.

Director Roman Polanski is feeling depressed two weeks after his arrest in Switzerland to face US extradition for a 1977 case involving the rape of a 13-year-old girl, his lawyer has been quoted as saying. Ref. Source 4

The comparison to Paris Hilton was to show that there is little way that this guy is going to serve all his time. Paris was guilty (of driving trashed). Paris was sentenced. It was a short sentence, just like this one. Polanski's deal was supposedly for 40 days. She didn't serve all of her sentence and I see little way Polanski will serve his as well.

Let's not even start with the additional time that needs to be tacked on to his sentence because of skipping the country....because that pretty much ensures he stays in jail for the remainder of his life.

So, since I am not going to see him serve his time (kind of interesting is that he probably is going to serve his 40 days in Switzerland before they figure out what to do with him), get a million dollars out of him, make him register as a child molester in the US a send him on his way. If he violates telling the US that he is planning trips and where, if he visits, then to the slammer he goes.

In a perfect world, he serves all his time.

Yes I feel that he will never serve his time and that is the sad thing. To see all these stars and others with money prove over and over it is not fair and equal punishment to everyone. I am sure if some other person had did this and did not have the money people would be calling for his head. It is cases like this that make me very disappointed.

It's scary to know that so many people support him. Since when is rape acceptable in Hollywood? I'm pretty sure those who defend him probably have commit similar crimes.

Apparently, Star Jones had a lot to say about this case and networks are claiming that she is playing the race card. I saw the report and I agree 100% with her. The only reason why this man got away with this crime was because he is white, rich, and powerful. What upsets me the most is how the Hollywood crowd are speaking so highly of this predator. The man raped a 13 year old girl and all they can think about is how many movies he did!
