Knicks G Billups expected to miss Game 2 (AP)

Toney Douglas played well when he replaced an injured Chauncey Billups during the regular season. There's much more at stake now. In only his third season, Douglas said he's prepared if, as expected, Billups, the 13-year veteran point guard, misses Tuesday night's Game 2 of the New York Knicks' first-round playoff series with the Boston Celtics with a sore left knee.

Chicago Bulls star Derrick Rose says his sprained left ankle is improving and he expects to play in Game 5 against the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday night. Rose was wearing a brace on his ankle as he participated on a limited basis in the morning shootaround. He says the ankle "feels totally different," that it's not as stiff.

Boston center Shaquille O'Neal is listed as doubtful for Tuesday's Game 2 of the Celtics' Eastern Conference semifinal series against the Miami Heat. O'Neal scrimmaged with the Celtics on Monday. Celtics coach Doc Rivers says O'Neal looked good at times, then had trouble getting around by the end of the session.

Bynum very sorry for hard foul on Barea (AP)

Lakers center Andrew Bynum has apologized profusely for his flagrant foul on Dallas guard J.J. Barea during Los Angeles' final playoff game. Bynum suspects he'll be suspended to start next season. Bynum was ejected for throwing a flying elbow at Barea during the fourth quarter of the Lakers' 36-point loss in Game 4 of their second-round playoff series last Sunday.

The NBA players' association filed an unfair labor charge against the league Tuesday with the National Labor Relations Board, a move it hopes could block a lockout it feels owners want. The union says the NBA hasn't bargained in good faith, has made financial demands without offering concessions to the players, and has bypassed the union to deal directly with players.

The champions of the Eastern Conference, the Miami Heat, will face the champions of the Western Conference, the Dallas Mavericks, under a 2-3-2 rotation starting on May 31, 2011 and ending no later than June 14, 2011.
