Liahona Introduction

I consider myself a Non-Ortodox Mormon. I'm married with several kids and staying home at the moment. I'm searching for Truth (with capital T) and evaluating many church practices and policies that seem to be in conflict. I saw some topics and replies that sparked my interest enough to join.

Thanks for posting your introduction message, this INTERNATIONAL Forum allows you to interact positively with many people on varying topics such as LDS Church news, Doctrine, the Book of Mormon, etc. However, do keep in mind that LDS Related Discussion is kept only in the LDS Related Boards as this is an International Community.

Be sure to read: The Art of Discussion as some tend to become offended or argumentative, this may not be you, but just in case.

The next thing you should do now is update your profile. You can do this by clicking the link called, 'My Controls' in the top menu. You may wish to venture over to the LDS Deep Doctrine board or the News & RM Section and have a look around.

If you like LDS Based Games then you may also be interested in playing: Nephi RPG where you can 'Journey to the Promised Land' or Book of Mormon Battles and see if you really know a lot about the Book of Mormon.

Welcome to the forum.

I consider myself quite unorthodox as well, and have been banned from some other LDS discussions and boards due to my views. In many ways, I tend to identify somewhat with independent Mormon fundamentalists.

I am sure that you will find many interesting subjects to discuss. However, many of our deeper, more controversial discussions take place in the Mature LDS board.

Thanks for the welcome Joseph and Nighthawk. It's good to know I'm not alone on my search for answers. My husband isn't a member of the Church and he is one of the many reasons for my quest. How open is this site to share personal experiences and unorthodox views? My main topic of interest are Celestial Marriage (Plural) and Personal Revelation.

We are fairly open to thorough discussion, but as I mentioned before, the more controversial stuff is in the Mature LDS section. There are some specific requirements to participate there that you will need to look up in the FAQ section. You can always click on my email or PM link if you want to discuss something in more detail, although you may need to reach a certain participation level to access them (it has been quite a while since I needed to worry about such things).

Thanks for the help Nighthawk. This site is huge, so far I'm having a good time and enjoying reading all the views of the members here, both of us have similar views on quite a few topics.
