* Our pavements are small to non-existent as it is do not make it worse by expanding yourself as though you own the pavement / walkway.
* If you are with your friends do not walk in such a manner as though you do not wish for anyone to pass by because of your Maracas wave formation
* If you need to window shop then go to the side of the shop away from pedestrians. Do not make an abrupt stop without considering the person behind you
* If you need to talk with a friend, do not stop in the middle of the pavement to do so thus making a pedestrian have to actually step on the road to get by

If you are forced to walk in the road because there are no pavements, give way to motorists. Although pedestrians have the right way, motorists believe they own the road and they will knock you down.

If you are crossing the road, use the zebra crossing (if there is one) rather than jay walk.

If there is a bridge over a highway, use it. Don't endanger your life by attempting to cross the busy highway because you are too lazy to use the bridge.

If you have a young child with you, hold his hand firmly while attempting to cross the road. If you are walking on the sidewalk, do not allow the child to run wild. Hold his hand or ensure that he knows that if he runs: he will fall down, knock down another pedestrian or will be reprimanded.

If you are carrying a large umbrella, don't swing it in your hand. The tip of the umbrella may poke out the person's eye behind you.

If you are walking with a dog, please secure the dog with a leash and a muzzle, especially if it is considered a dangerous dog. Pull the dog to one side, if someone else is approaching the opposite direction.
