Separate From Your Actions

I have this post in the Philosophy Board to get the non-religious point of view and I decided to place it here for the Mormon point of view:

Do you think one can be charged separate of their actions or must they always be considered based on their actions? In other words can someone be likable, and in a sense have a 'good' nature and yet make a horrible decision and then be condemned by it or should they be judged based on a sum of things?

Actions Your Separate

It depends on the seriousness of the crime you know what am I saying? If for instance that horrible decision caused the death of a child then the person should be charged for what he or she did regardless of how well nature they were before. Mercy cant rob justice.

The best example I can think of this is King David, he did a lot of great things for Israel, but he was long remembered for murder and adultery because he saw a woman bathing naked.

Actions Your Separate

The responses thus far seem to hit home to the weight of the one error that makes the person judged. How about if the person save a million people but in error killed one?
