The poster for it, you know the babe with the gun, kind of grabs me as a movie with some emotion. I thought this would have been just a PG movie.

After so many rave reviews I decided to have a look. Well, what can I say about this movie that may not 'hurt' the G.I. Joe fans. Already you know I'm not liking it. I guess to appreciate this movie you would of have to been raised with Cobra and Joe figurines in your bedroom / pocket. I knew about GI Joe as a kid but somehow the storyline just does not appeal to me, and it seemingly still does not. OK, let's examine the movie.

Sound effects and animation is top of the line as you will expect but the script and acting was sub par in my opinion. At the beginning of the movie after the French clip you are told that you are going to see something in the near future, BUT everything in society looks normal but the 'special force' GI Joe team have technology equivalent to Star Wars. I just wasn't able to buy that. This must appeal to a younger audience who can be mesmerized by bullets and explosions, but I just could not get into it. Of course there was a lot left for you to know they are going to make a part 2 to this, but they will not find me looking.

If you like action movies then go see this movie. I think this movie was meant more for kids. Too much stuff that happened within the movie just did not make sense. Some of this was some of the chases. I think kids will like the movie as mine did but I would not go see it again. It was a waste of my money.

I think producers today think they can get by using special effects and make millions of dollars without having to write a descent script - probably they can because the current growing generation is all about games and technology, but for the more seasoned of society this is just not the right direction for entertainment, at least not for me.
