I don't understand the big deal. A woman prayed, so? How come the Mormon Feminists are now trying to say they "Won", are they in some sort of battle with the Brethren? Well let me tell you it cannot be because if I have to choose between them and God's inspiring leaders, I would choose God's inspired mouthpieces anytime.
You are missing the point entirely. This IS a historical moment. For the first time ever, a woman prayed in Conference BECAUSE women shared how they felt. And what you say about mormon feminists is just a matter of opinion, as a matter of fact this move alone is proof that our leaders hears us and care how we feel.
Liahona you're the one missing the point. The selection for prayers were arranged BEFORE this "Campaign" started. You are free to believe whether that's true or not (Church official confirmed it) so I'm sorry to disappoint but no, the Church didn't include a woman because of pressure.
What I don't understand is the following: Why is it that it is impossible for some people to understand the possibility that the brethren and the members are well in tune with the Spirit? What about if the brethren heard our concern and prayed about it and received a revelation? Is that so hard to understand?
