European Parliament Again Rejects Bill Declaring Abortion a Human Right

For the second time in two months, the European Parliament rejected a report that recommended that EU nations declare abortion to be a human right and to make abortion available within all public health systems of member countries. Adoption of the report would have placed more pressure on pro-life nations like Ireland, Poland and Malta to legalize abortion on demand.

The proposal was rejected in Strasbourg today and instead an alternative report proposed by the European People's Party was adopted by 334 to 327 votes. Ref. Source 8

Liberal Activists Angry European Parliament Rejected Declaring Abortion a Human Right

The European left is outraged today as a controversial resolution went down to a totally unexpected defeat in the European Parliament on Tuesday in Brussels. Called the Estrela Report, the resolution called for a whole host of 'sexual and reproductive rights."

Writing at the blog Turtle Bay and Beyond, European human rights lawyer JC von Krempach said the non-binding Estrela report would have defined abortion as a human right, a first in the European context, eliminate conscience protection for medical personnel, federally fund abortion and in-vitro-fertilization, and through "comprehensive sexuality education" begin to teach toddlers about things like masturbation. Most people who see nothing wrong with abortion have that belief because they don't think an unborn baby is a person. They don't even like the term "unborn baby" because it lends to the idea that what's in the womb is a person. They usually stick with the term "fetus" because the emotional response generated from discussion of killing a fetus is more palatable than that of killing a baby. But even if they were right about the absence of humanity in a fetus, it doesn't change the fact that aborting a fetus is a horrific, senseless tragedy. Ref. Source 7

A man outside an abortion clinic says he will spare the child if protesters give him $50,000. The man tells anti-abortion protestors that he has one child already and can't afford to pay for another. Ref. Source 7

* The only one who has a right to decide whether or not they don't get an abortion is the mother as her life is the only life being put at risk for having the child.
* I would not pay the man any money for him to keep the baby. Threatening to harm the child if his isn't paid money is proof that he has no love for the child. He would be a bad parent and does not deserve to be a father.
* The only reason I'd even consider giving the man any money would be if he and his wife agreed to give up all parental rights and give me the child.
