Here is the event in more detail as well as background history:
Ahmed Yassin was killed in another Israeli attack on March 22, 2004. While he was being wheeled out of an early morning prayer session, he was struck by Hellfire missiles fired from Israeli helicopter gunships and died instantly, along with seven others. More than a dozen people were injured in the attack, including two of his sons. The attack, which was part of an ongoing Israeli retaliation against Hamas-sponsored suicide bombings, followed Sheikh Yassin's taunt that Israel's response to the Ashdod suicide bombers was weak, and that Hamas would gain strength as a result.
The Israel Defense Forces issued a statement regarding the assassination:
"This morning, in a security forces operation in the northern Gaza Strip, the IDF targeted a car carrying the head of the Hamas terror organization, Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, and his aides.
Yassin, responsible for numerous murderous terror attacks, resulting in the deaths of many civilians, both Israeli and foreign, was killed in the attack."
Hamas official Ismail Haniyeh commented: "This is the moment Sheikh Yassin dreamed about". The Hamas leadership said Ariel Sharon had "opened the gates of hell."

Palestine vs. Israel (Hover)
There are many factions over there that do not want peace. awhile ago the Isrealies with drew from certain parts to give the palestine people room and to see if they would handle things and police the terrists. but they wasn't able too. this has happened several times. so until the terrorist themselves are under control then peace can not be found. and so until the bombing stop or insurgency stops then there will be no peace and the battle of armageden will take place. or gog and may gog as some call it.
but you can see now that as the isrealies need to take the agressive stand to rid them selves of the leaders of the terrorist the U N denounces them for doing it and so the prophecy that say the nations of the world will be aginst Isreal will become closer and closer. and true.
as for the latest killing of the hamus leader it is sad but he had only anger and vengence on his mind and he influences others to follow the wicked paths so he was needed to be taken out and hopefully a more peaceful leader will imerge.
I will add a point here. Despite all the emotional rhetoric from Hamas and others, it seems that Hamas really is disorganized and depressed right now.
Of course, the worldwide view of the Bomber Boy, a 12-year-old disabled boy who was tricked by Arafat's organization into trying to be a suicide bomber has caused even the most hardened Palestinian Arabs to rethink things.

It turns out he was actually 16, but looks much younger. Also, it is reported that he is immature for his age. Here is a link. https://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/4592829/
That link points to a blank page. Here is an interesting tell tale quote from Yassin:
Yassin repeatedly said that the land of Israel is "consecrated for future Muslim generations until Judgement Day" and that "The so-called peace path is not peace and it is not a substitute for jihad and resistance."
