Palestine Statehood Who Is Right? Should Palestine be its own soverign nation state? Why is the USA attempt to block this from happening? Is Israel using an apartheid system much like South Africa did where people are segregated into undesirable areas and become unable to access the basic necessities of life? Does Israel have a point that they have major security challenges against those trying to harm them? How can this be resolved or will it ever? Will there be a Palestine state?

I know the US is famous for using those tactics of get someone else to take care of the enemy for you, and then when they do that someone else also becomes the enemy too (Discussed in another Thread), however I see too that Israel seems to be party to these war tactics as well according to this DN report:

Zaki Chehab on "Inside Hamas: The Untold Story of the Militant Islamic Movement"

As Israel warns Hamas that none of its leaders are safe from assassination strikes, we talk to Zaki Chehab on the founding of Hamas and how Israel once directly backed the militant group in an attempt to counter Yasser Arafat. Zaki Chehab is the political editor of the London-based Al Hayat newspaper and the Arabic TV channel LBC.

Can anyone deny the fact that Israel is trying to make peace? I just saw a beautiful pic of Palestine prisoners being freed in a bus waving to Israeli soldiers.

QUOTE
RAMALLAH, West Bank -  Israel released more than 250 Palestinian prisoners Friday in a gesture to embattled President Mahmoud Abbas, who pledged not to rest until Israel's jails were emptied of its thousands of Palestinians.

The release was meant to bolster Abbas in his power struggle with the Islamic militant Hamas, which took control of Gaza by force last month.

Several thousand chanting, clapping Palestinians greeted the prisoners as their buses rolled into Abbas' headquarters in the West Bank city of Ramallah. Prisoners were hoisted onto the shoulders of dancing supporters, before they performed noon prayers in a large, open-sided tent.

"This is the beginning," said Abbas, wearing a black-and-white checkered baseball cap, a symbol of Palestinian nationalism. "Efforts must continue. Our work must continue until every prisoner returns to the his home," he said.

Israeli and officials of Abbas' government said they hoped the release marked a new chapter in relations, following seven years of bloody fighting.

"All the suffering, all the pain is gone," said released prisoner Iyad Milhem, 30, as he rode on one of the buses. "But we still hope for the release of all the other prisoners."

This is a nice gesture but I am pessimistic for a couple of reasons:

1. There are still thousands still languishing in Israeli dungeons.
2. This was a move to weaken Hamas which is the elected representative of the Palestinian people. Hence this move can be viewed as an action to undermine the Palestinians.

Maybe true for number 2. Nevertheless, I think we need to be a little more optimistic and give Israel some credit. In the end, no matter what was the reason for leaving them free, it was done and should be acknowledged, not look up for excuses as why they did it and basically that wasn't enough, we should be happy for this move...if we do not think this way, I see little hope for a resolution because it means we will always see the other side as the enemy and nothing they do will ever be enough.

I dont really understand why someone called palestinian as un'man'.When your land being occupied, what will you do?The 'family' of the conqueror are also should understand the risk of being there.Ordinary citizen of Israel, what you called, are being viewed as the enemy as they too, occupied the land. What will your feeling be if Palestine is your country?People of other races and religion coming from nowhere, occupied your land, and suddenly claimed it as theirs? Then, your country is wiped out from the map.Women and children who live in Israel do support the occupation, because, they LIVE there. How about if people coming to your house , claimed it as theirs and wiped you from your house?Their 'family' are involvd too, remember.
