Palestine Statehood Who Is Right? Should Palestine be its own soverign nation state? Why is the USA attempt to block this from happening? Is Israel using an apartheid system much like South Africa did where people are segregated into undesirable areas and become unable to access the basic necessities of life? Does Israel have a point that they have major security challenges against those trying to harm them? How can this be resolved or will it ever? Will there be a Palestine state?

I don't think it is a great idea for Israel to cut of all trade, including food, to Gaza. However, Gaza has shown that it is completely uncivilized. Perhaps it should look to its spiritual leaders in Iran, Saudi Arabia, and Syria for supplies, instead of the people it is murdering.

Gaza Hunger In Pictures

I stopped by al shanty bakery mid of Gaza City. It is one of the biggest bakeries across Gaza which provides tens of thousands with bread. Hundreds of people crowded outside the bakery in a very long long row waiting for bag of bread. Children, women and men were awaiting the chance to have the bread which is totally running out in Gaza.

With 290 dead and a basic condition of starving the people I can see some tragic reprisals coming upon Israel. I hope they are prepared for it because the hate in the Arab world grows with each shot.

Israeli Attacks Kill Over 310 in Gaza in One of Israel's Bloodiest Attacks on Palestinians Since 1948

Amidst worldwide protests, Israel is continuing its bombing campaign against Gaza for the third consecutive day and preparing to launch a possible ground invasion. Following months of a crippling blockade, this has been described as one of Israel's bloodiest attacks on Palestinians since 1948. Latest reports indicate that 310 people have been killed and 1,400 injured in the aerial strikes across the Gaza Strip since Saturday morning. The latest targets of the air strikes include the Hamas Interior Ministry building and the Islamic University. Israel's Defense Minister Ehud Barak announced today that Israel is in an "all-out war with Hamas and its proxies" in Gaza. Fears of a ground invasion are growing after Israel declared a military buffer zone around Gaza, closing off the strip and its 1.5 million residents to journalists and civilians.

We speak to Dr. Moussa El-Haddad and Fida Qishta in Gaza, Dr. Mustafa Barghouti in Ramallah, Gideon Levy in Tel Aviv and Ali Abunimah in the US.

Frankly JB, they need to kill every leader of Hamas and retake Gaza even if that means inflicting heavy civilian Casualties. No nation can allow rockets to be fired into their sovereign territory and not retaliate. When the Palestinians and Hamas stop threatening the destruction of Israel and killing Israeli Citizens then they can
expect the Israelis to play nice. (Unfortunately the cowards from Hamas set up their rocket launchers in heavy civilian areas, and then cry foul when civilians are killed to destroy these launchers and fighters).

Do they (Hamas) not realize that if they take a knife to a fight, that someone might shoot them with a Gun? I have little sympathy anymore for the Palestinians (and by extension the rest of the Muslim world.) It seems that they (the muslim use of the Palestinians) are idiotic puppets who threaten civilization and then expect us to bend over and take it like they give to their women (Honor killings, treating them like cattle, second class Citizens who should not drive or have an education).

In my opinion, cutting off food and supplies to an enemy in wartime (which israel has been, due to the declared war by Hamas and the Population at large) is a legitimate tactic that has always been used in wartime. Once the Palestinians actually want peace and are willing to stop sending suicide bombers and rockets into Israel, then the state of war can end and that tactic will not have to be used.

Remember, this all started when rockets from Gaza started coming into Israel and the Palestinians broke the cease fire. Once that was done, Israel had every right to try to defend herself, and apparently she is doing so in force.

I think Hamas loves it when they shoot their little rockets into Israel and in retaliation some Palestinians civilians get killed (even some of their women and children). Image to them is more important then the lives of their civilians, and the destruction of Israel is paramount to peace and co-existence. You cannot negotiate with that kind of enemy, because the only bargaining chip that they will accept is the total surrender and death of the other side (notice how Israel keeps trying to give up land and releasing known murderers to let the Palestinians know how peaceful they are. It always ends with a suicide bombing that kills a bunch of Israelis on a bus or a group of students at a nightclub).

This conflict will likely come to a head someday with the complete destruction of one side or the other. I do not know when that will occur, but conflicts like these always make me feel uneasy that this will be catalysts that brings the rest of the Muslim world into the fray.

The problem is that there truly is no bargaining partner on the Palestinian side. Abbas has shown time in time again that he cannot control Hamas. Arafat could not control Hamas. All of the Palestinians could want to get a peace deal signed, but the fact is that Hamas is not interested. Until they have dined on enough death, there is no chance for peace.

On a near daily basis, they loaded up rockets with fuel and shot them into Israeli territory. They asked Abbas to do something about it or the temporary peace would end. He was given ample opportunity. Abbas pleaded on television with the leaders of Hamas to stop the violence, but to no avail. It is obvious that he is not in control of his territory...Hamas is. OR...One could say that since Hamas is not the majority of Palestinians, that they are in general complacent with the attacks and the potential reprocussions.

It is way too complex to even get into depth on these pages, but until Palestine stands up against elements within their popluation that are not for peace with Israel, but waiting for its destruction...the whole will not enjoy the kind of peace with Israel that has come to countries like Jordan and Egypt.

Comments: Why does it seem that modern warfare is against just a few people. The way it is described in the news, the Israeli PM should be out having one- on one duels. Wars... Or limited conflict in this case are between groups of people. Non-combatants and pacifist are generally forced to come along for the ride.
