Who Is Right? Should Palestine be its own soverign nation state? Why is the USA attempt to block this from happening? Is Israel using an apartheid system much like South Africa did where people are segregated into undesirable areas and become unable to access the basic necessities of life? Does Israel have a point that they have major security challenges against those trying to harm them? How can this be resolved or will it ever? Will there be a Palestine state? Other than island countries, most all countries that are on a continent have contiguous borders. The US has Alaska and Hawaii as non contiguous states. This is not a problem because Hawaii is alone out there in the ocean and Alaska is flanked by Canada. Fortunately, we have a better relationship with Canada than say Palestine and Israel have with each other. I wont mention also that the only efficient way to get from the 48 to Alaska is air, so our analogy is not exactly the same. The former country of Yugoslavia has lots of pockets of other cultures within the individual states and we can all remember how swimmingly that worked out.
East Jerusalem is a hot button and needs to be turned into a international city and placed under Palestinian Custodialship (not ownership). Actually, I would say that all of Jerusalem should be declared a UN International City, but the Israelis will never accept this and since they have controlled it for this long aren't going to move out.
I would still recommend that the Palestinians give up the Gaza Strip and that the Israelis give up a slice (equal in sq ft) around Lake Tiberias and connects to the West Bank/Golan Heights. This give them a ally to their east, acess to water and the smallest boarder with Israel. The smaller boarder should end up being a demand for less troops to control the boarder. Israel should also provide a small track of land in the deal to make a airport (at Israeli expense). No homes are destroyed for the vacating people and they are resettled at their countries expense.
If they do not make this deal one in which there is a contiguous Palestine, we are only kidding ourselves about peace.
Another solution could be to just go back to the '49 Armistice boundaries and make East Jeuruselem a UN International City under Palestinian control. There will be a issue with water that needs to be resolved.

Israel are acting just like how the white South Africans acted against the black South Africans with aparthied. Its also against the Geneva Convention to build and hinder passage in an occupied nation. What the hell is the US doing spending billions to build walls around the same people that welcomed the Jews there when they fled Hitler?

What further proof? How about independent verification. Supposedly 26 anonymous soldiers made this claim. It could just be made up by this group, since there is no way to verify it.
I claim that the Palestinians commit wholesale slaughter on Israeli civilians, Christian Arabs, and any Muslim Arab that they suspect of "collaborating" with the Israelis. The difference is that all of this information has been independently verified.
Here are some of the allegations.

Hmm. Of course, the Arabs never do that. They just fire at the Israelis from within crowds of women and children. They also store their weapons in hospitals, mosques, and schools.

Now that is just horrible. No other army in the whole world has this problem. Right? It just HAS to be an indication of deliberate policy on the part of the Israelis.

How many other soldiers contradicted them? How many were shot at? Sounds like a very weak argument.
So, what exactly does this group, "Breaking the Silence" wish to accomplish here. What do YOU wish to accomplish?
When the Israelis gave the Palestinians almost all that they asked for, the Palestinian Arab Muslims started the Intifada. When the Israelis declared a cease-fire, the Palestinian Arab Muslims fired rockets into civilian housing areas in Israel. How do you propose to stop the violence? Shall the Israeli Jews just all leave the country? Shall they just all commit suicide? Hamas continues to declare that the only solution is the complete eradication of the state of Israel, and the expulsion of all Jews from the Middle East. So, again, what do you propose?
| Rather off topic, but... Just slightly off-topic. The media is quick to shout out about abuses by Israeli and US soldiers, but are completely silent about the abuses by all of the Muslim groups, including the ones in Kosovo, Chechnya, etc. Why the double standard? |

Are you even aware that the same Israeli army stops all media and observers from entering Gaza? I wonder why, got something to hide I think. They don't mind bring all the international press to see when a bomb goes off in their neighborhood though.

That's the whole point. What the Palestinians need is there land back and the Jews to leave them alone, so therefore it hasn't been ALL they asked for at all. How can you gate someone into a hole and tell them they need to ask you for permission if they want to come out?
