After Failed "Peace" Talks, Pushing to Label Israel as Occupier of Palestine:
The Palestinian leadership is focusing on its diplomatic and legal struggle for international recognition of Palestine as a state under occupation and for Israel to be held accountable as the occupier. Ref. Source 3
The Middle East Problem
By Dennis Prager
When I did my graduate studies at the Middle East Institute at Columbia University's School of International Affairs, I took many courses on the question of the Middle East conflict.
Semester after semester, we studied the Middle East conflict as if it was the most complex conflict in the world - when in fact, it is probably the easiest conflict in the world to explain. It may be the hardest to solve, but it is the easiest to explain.
In a nutshell, it is this: One side wants the other side dead.
Israel wants to exist as a Jewish state and to live in peace. Israel also recognizes the right of Palestinians to have their own state and to live in peace. The problem, however, is that most Palestinians and many other Muslims and Arabs, do not recognize the right of the Jewish state of Israel to exist.
This has been true since 1947, when the United Nations voted to divide the land called Palestine into a Jewish state and an Arab state. Ref. Source 4
The UN didn't create the state of Israel. After WW1, the area was under control of the British to resolve territories and set the boundaries. This was called the British Mandate of Palestine. This lasted from basically the end of WWI through the end of WWII (Plus a few years). At the end of the mandate, the Partition Plan was proposed as the Brittish were not willing to remain in control of the area any longer (As it saw basically no way to satisfy everyone and didn't want to spend any more money staying there). The UN backed the Partition Plan and the Israelis accepted it. Of course, the Palestinians didn't accept it. War was immediate as the UN acknowledged a state of Israel (Was supposed to be part of a state of Palestine). War broke out and eventually the UN had to step in to save Israel. So, Israel was intended to be part of Palestine, but a state within that country. This was created by the Mandate of Palestine that was overseen by the British.

There is a lot more to study, but that isn't a bad review of the British Mandate of Palestine.
Thanks for answering me. Then how did the British get there if there were already people living there? More so what gave the British the right to decide the boundaries. I guess my main question is... Before those wars there was no Israel so why after it?
Technically, there never was a Palestine either. The British ended up with control of the area as a result of the end of WWI. The area was under control of the Ottoman Empire. With the empires defeat in WW1, the area was placed under British control to settle and create boundaries. There were several Mandates under British, French and US control that settled various territories of conquered lands. A study of the ends of WW1 and WWII would help you understand how conquered lands were dealt with by the victors. In many cases, it is a misunderstanding of the history of a desire to just get out of a area where there are difficult boundary disputes that have shown up later in new disputes or wars.
