Halloween 2009

Halloween 2009

How do you plan on celebrating Halloween 2009? Will you go out trick or treating? Will you wear a costume?

Halloween

We don't celebrate Halloween in Trinidad (there is a small celebration in the west side of the island though) but we dress up the kids every Halloween and give them candy. This year, we will have two batmen at home (baby too young still and we're in the tropics so it's pretty hot). One costume will be the typical black batman costume and I want to make the other the gray version.

The kids all want a halloween party. We are in the planning stages now. We will have everything set by this Friday. Then it will move to the getting ready for it stage.

Halloween

We got a Spiderman costume for Felipe and Jonah has a batman one so that is taken care of. We need to get the candies, etc. I also want to make a Halloween meal. I need to think of lunch or dinner. So far I have the dessert which will be some creepy witch fingers.

Halloween

That looks thoroughly disgusting! Felipe has been trying to do creepy art work for Halloween but he seems to be too heavy on the blood so I have to let him know that not everything about Halloween is blood. We need to keep it more about costumes and less about the creepy stuff which is not good anyway.

He watches cartoons where they make emphasis on it. These are just fingers love, not all gory and surely does not look disgusting to me! Don't worry I am taking care of everything. wink.gif

Oh and what are these fingers made of? By the way, what are you thinking of doing for that day? I think maybe I should dress up as different people with different treats and open the door each time they say the usual, "Trick or Treat, gimme something nice to eat."

Oh and what are these fingers made of?

It's basically a traditional Christmas cookie recipe but turned into witch fingers (butter, flour, confectioner sugar, eggs, etc). The almonds you brought are for the fingernails. wink.gif

By the way, what are you thinking of doing for that day?

1. Skeleton Scavenger Hunt. I will create a skeleton and divide it into parts and hide the parts with clues all over the house and they have to find the pieces and put the skeleton together.

2. How Many Words they can create with the words SCARECROW or JACK-O-LANTERN.

3. Paper plates Halloween decoration or mask creations.

More ideas to come...

That sounds like a very nice idea!
