Name: Sgt.
Country:
Comments: It amazes me that some people here at home can argue over the way he was shot. Who cares... The man was bent set on killing Americans... he's an assassin, a murderer. Have you all forgotten the catastrophe he caused? People lives were shattered forever and they're still suffering!
Bin Laden killed innocents on 9-11. The day he was killed was not one of taking innocent lives...he was a combatant at war with the US and on that day he LOST. My biggest problem was how we handled the media.
1 It was a huge firefight and he died in it.
2 He resisted at the end of a huge firefight.
3 He resisted at the end of a small firefight.
4 He used a human shield and had to be shot.
5 He threw women at us and we killed him.
6 We had no contact with the SEAL team.
7 We watched it all on live video feeds.
8 We did it alone without Pakistani Government knowledge.
9 Of course we consulted the Pakistani Government
10 A dog outside barked and we plugged him accidently full of holes...no pics pls.
11 YADA YADA YADA....
By the end of all the statements and backtracks, it diminished the demonstration of competency that the raid made for our military and government.
Bottom line...we should have handled it this way:
1 Complete the mission.
2 Call up Pakistan and ask them if they want in on a little bit of the glory or not, with apology for invading air space and set plans to retrieve the copter.
3 Presidential TV Show - we sought out and terminated the life of Bin Laden, acknowledgement to all involved (Pakistani Gov. If the wanted in, past admins), those lost in 9-11, warning to those who want to pick up the torch and warning to us that this is not over.
That is IT. No waffling discussions afterwards and think about the Pakistani governments position before you open your pie-hole. We killed him and that was what we wanted to do. None of this...he resisted, threw women at us, whatever... There is no way we wanted to bring him back for trial. Many in the arab world like this guy. This is not Saddam Hussien. No body liked him...hold him up in a jail and we don't have to work about people blowing themselves up trying to help him escape. Bin Laden is a different story. It isn't worth the cost and actually we cant afford it right now. We probably did him a favor as hanging isn't always quick. We were just so clumsy after a great job by our military trying to explain it away...it was what it was...we killed/terminated/assassinated/permanently resigned/liquidated/helped him get closer to Mecca/gave him the big sleep or how ever you chose to say it. Any more explaining just lessens the message and in the end it almost felt like we were embarrassed we killed him.
We bring him back for a trial for what...to make us feel better? You think that those that like him will see him as a bad guy after the trial that should be killed? If there was a trial, it would only be to soothe our psyche because on the other side of the pond, they already made up their minds and not many are sitting on the fence. Could he have actually been found innocent...ummm...no he actually confessed to it in a tape to us. We wont be converting any islamic extermist with a trial...no point in it.
As far as comparing this to Israel and the Palestinians, not even the same ball yard.

Well, [..] JB and LDS_forever its only the one side of the coin. You people are unaware of the tyranny and brutality which Americans and other concerned non-Muslims are presenting to the Muslims of the Kashmir, Bosnia, Chechnya, Russia, Somalia, IRAQ and AFGHANISTAN . Actually, the fact is this that if you will try to press any nation (Muslims in this case) then people will rise up automatically who will treat you in the same manner as you are treating them. Same is the case here where Al-Qaeda rose up to nullify the AMERICAN BRUTALITY!
My point is this that America is promoting the enmity between Pakistan and India . Just because it wants both countries to keep on buying weapons from it for Kashmir. And as far as Afghan war against USSR is concerned then it was USA who made a big investment to the war for Jihadis Usama and company . USA also provided them with Weapons . At that time they were your heroes but now you declare them terrorists its just your double standard.
I am just trying to say this that it were US and its allies who assembled all the militants to fight against USSR. At that time they were giving unconditional support to them just because at that time the thinking of US and of Al-qaeda was same. But now when Al-qaeda has a diifferent motto then US has become against it. USA don't have any moral right to be against the ones who were once there heroes.
