Drinking Barium
Is Drinking Barium harmful to your system? What is it made from?
Strange question. Barium is an element on the periodic table and is a metal. While it is hard to find barium in its elemental metallic form (oxides rapidly), I doubt you would be drinking any of it. When heated up to a sufficient temperature, you can make Barium Sulphate from Barite (common ore out of the ground). Barium Sulphate is insoluble and that allows it to be consumed in a slurry (as the barium sulphate is still a solid). It is used to coat the inside of people's digestive tract for x-rays. Any Barium form that his soluble in water or acid would be extremely poisonous.
