Plus your skill ranks. Base skill rank for a first level character is only 4 then you add in your bonuses. You should not have any skill rank over 8 with your ability scores. If I got this right the party is currently fighting giants and I was wondering is you would just have me enter the game, wait for the battle to end, or do something else. The party is currently fighting a Giant. You are in the town that they left from. There are a few other party members that stayed back in the town. Take a look at the party thread and see who is still in the town and maybe they will talk to you so your ready to join the main party when they get back.
