Why is a fighter rolling a d8?
Txtrpg (Any anyone else curious for rules), the manuals for 3.5 edition can be found on this site. You have to go to the list of topics, click Role-playing Game FAQ or the pinned topic, and the 9th question down provides links.
I haven't made these changes yet:
Avan's leftover experience will be 1300/6000 to get to 4th.
Increase by 1:
BAB
Reflex save
Move Silently
Spellcraft
Hide
Spot
Listen
Increase by 2:
Concentration
Gain Trackless step
Gain level 2 spells: 1 base and 1 for high Wisdom.
Gain Feat: Track
Also, I forgot to record Woodland Stride gained last level.
Mister Fluffles advances:
+2 Hit dice
+2 Natural Armor
+1 Strength and Dexterity
1 more bonus trick: Guard
Gain Evasion
The Hit die increase causes:
BAB +2
All Saves +1
2 skill points: Spot, Listen
Gain a Feat: Multiattack
Next level could I have Mr Fluffles "Grow" into a black panther with a leopard's statistics? It would of course nullify the above changes (Which I'll apply again at 6th level).
Looks good Avan. Make sure to add everything onto your character sheet to the right. I will look into the druids companion to see if Mr Fluffles will grow or not and let you know.
Out of Character: Zork you can roll a d10 in hopes of a better score or take my roll of 6. You choice but if you roll a d10 you must take that roll.
Zork you should have had 2,500 experience left thus you would add that to the 1,800 giving you 4,300 experience total. Then take away the 3,000 needed for level 3 gives you 1,300 towards level 4.
You can also do it this way. You got 3,500 experience the first time. You need 1000 to make level 2. You take 3,500 minus 1,000 equals 2,500. You are second level with zero experience. Now you add the remaining 2,500 add that to zero gives you 2,500 experience. Now you just got 1,800. Since you need 500 to make level 3 you take 1,800 minus 500. Is 1,300. Add the 500 to you 2,500 to make 3,000 needed for level 3. Thus you got third level and back to zero. Now you add the 1,300 to that zero thus giving you 1,300 towards level 4.
Does this help everyone understand how I do the experience?
So, I was just reading the Quarterstaff description. It's normally a 2 handed weapon, either used as a double weapon or using it in a single strike to add 1 1/2 strength to the damage.
However, the description says it can be held in 1 hand if not used as a double weapon. I presume it only adds strength modifier (Rather than 1 1/2), but it will also free up my other hand for a shield. This is the best thing for Avan to do in future - he doesn't have two-weapon fighting, or enough strength to do extra damage, and he can also boost its damage dice with Shillelagh to 2d6.
Two handed weapo. Is different that two weapon fighting. While the quarter staff van be weilded in one hand it is much more effective using two hands. The 1.5 times strength is for the use of it as only one strike while head in two hands unless the wielder is proficient in two weapon fighting. That is my take on it.
Yes you would have had the time to read the manual and can increase you strength. You will need to make adjustments to you BAB and your saving throws as well as skills. Make sure to check the manual for anything else you get.
