For your attributes, punch in something appropriate for your description, set the die size to d6, and tell it to roll 4 times. Repeat that for a total of three rows.

When the results come back, discard the lowest result on each row, and add up the rest. The total from each row can go to the attribute of your choice.

No worries, we all started somewhere.

Take your time, and work through it step by step.

The choices between these editions are different, but a halfelf rogue is still a viable option if that is the concept you want to work with.

Your next step would be to generate your statistics, and assign them to the abilities of your choice. If you need help and/or advice with that, feel free to ask. As mentioned before, character generators that can help are also available.

Rather off topic, but...
If you still find all of this rather overwhelming, you might consider starting with my fifth edition Dungeons & Dragons game instead. 5E is not strictly better than 3.5E, but one of its advantages is that the rules are noticeably simpler to learn. Not trying to steal players here, just offering options.

They are correct You need to roll each stat no point buy in Roll 4d6 take away lowest. Place the scores where you wish. I also random roll hair, eyes, height and weight. You start out with max hit points and level 1 only. Starting money is 5d4 times 10.

I used the generator, but I can't seem to save the file in any other shape than long text? Is there any way you perhaps roll my scores for me? I am happy to play any character really, I would just like to learn .

I know there was supposed to be a feature about pre-rolled characters but I don't think it is online yet.

Go ahead and post what you got here. I can clean it up some and repost it so you can continue. Also if you look to the right side of you post you can see your game character sheet that you can add your information to. Work on that also. I normally post on a word document then work on making it look better. Having that saved on your computer can help in getting your character the way you want to view it.

I would like to add a character. When I do I'll probably use the create character button unless I can use a character from my past that I will "Start" over again at 1st level. My question is, what class can I use? Is there anything needed in the group? My preference is either a ranger or a rogue to start… but I have and can play anything.
