The man is alone and you do not see or hear anyone close by. He is severely injured and close to death. When you get close to him you can see he is not faking anything. When questioned he will tell you he is trying to get back to town after his caravan was attacked and ravaged by two or maybe three giants at the edge of the mountains. He is the lone survivor and has stumbles his way south for a few days. He is nearly at his end due to lack of food and his injuries.

When you were questioning Deanna she side stepped most questions by simply saying, "Oh no worries there I have but a few tricks up my sleeves."

You heal the man of 1 HP. You camp for the night. The man is true to his story. He will tell you how they were almost through the mountians headed south when they were set upon by boulders tumbling down the mountains and then two or was it three scraggly stinking giants came upon them. They made short work of the caravan as his traveling companions and himself fled the area. Most of them were killed by hurled boulders and he was even hit by one but it did not kill him and he has crawled and stumbled his way farther south.

You help the man and send him on his way towards town. He is not much better but the little you helped did help him some. He is walking a bit better but not much. Not having any food is not going to help much. But he thanks you as he heads on south.

You head east on the road that leads towards the fort.

Page 84 Game Post Play Dragons and Dungeons

It takes a couple days before you are close to the hill that will give you a over look of the fort. As you approach the top of the hill you can see two birds circling high above. One is Krusten's bird but the other one you do not know if it is a native bird looking for food or not. Both are too high to shoot with an arrow. You have two days before the new moon.

Icon casts speak with animals on the other bird. It appears to study the group but it does not respond to icon in any way.

Deanna casts magic missile on the bird but the spell fall shirt by a few hundred feet. "Damn I thought he was closer than that. That must be a bigger bird than I thought. If it is then it is a familiar."

Deanna says, If it is a familiar then the owner probably arleady does see us. I would caution to say yes they are aware of us here than say no."

Krustens bird was not able to cause any effect to the other bird as it is not trained to attack other birds. When Krusten calls it back it comes back with no issues. Krusten, Ildrahill and bastion all fire arrows at the bird. Krustens is the only one to hit the bird. With the gloves and the added +1 the first shot hits the bird causing it to stagger in its flight. The second shot hits the bird solidly causing the bird to explode in feathers and parts as it careens downward in a spiral beyond the hill.

I take it that Avan will not cast his air elemental since the bird is down.
