Out of Character: Zork is busy haggling with the rest of the party over the items. He tries the +2 leather armor and checks to see if his +4 chain shirt can fit over it to give him extra protection. He also tries the boots of levitation to learn more about it. For instance how far up it goes, how long is the duration and how much load it can carry.
Zork will also ask the mage if he will buy anything the party doesn't want.
Out of Character: Kntoran, what of the shields?
Also I would like to triple check that the divine scrolls can be used by druids and not just clerics.
In Character: "Tell me, Tristan. What exactly does the potion of Longevity do? It sounds like it would be sought after by greedy and short-lived humans and orcs."
"We also have gems to appraise. Do you offer that service, or shall we go elsewhere? Do you know anyone?"
Out of Character: Sense motive on his appraisal of the magic items and then another one on whoever checks the gems.

In Character: Krusten is melancholy about the magical items. Some seemed interesting but they have been claimed and the others are not within her proficiency or skill so she mostly waits for the gold.
Avan has made his claim, leaving the others to discuss who gets what in the magic shop.
He doesn't take the gems with him, but rather goes around town to compare the jewelers' commission for appraising gems, rings and necklaces.
He will describe what the party has to each jeweler, but since he isn't carrying the items, he can't show them exactly what they've got.
Out of Character: Regarding the shields, I was asking if they were light or heavy, wooden or steel? Perhaps there is a symbol or heraldry which could identify an owner.
Faerydae takes her share of the items and waits on the rest of the party to secure theirs. When they're ready she will follow Avan to the jewelers more as a protection in numbers thing. She will look for an animal trainer so she can secure a well trained hawk or falcon as her familiar.
Out of Character: Well then I'm forbidden from using the shields, oh well.
Can my cat companion equip magical boots?
In Character: Avan thanks Faerydae for the help and any other that come with them to appraise the gems, rings and necklaces. He gives the pile one last scan with Detect Magic as he carries the sackful to the jewellers'. He asks for their prices to appraise first, looking for the second cheapest offer (For clearly the cheapest man has no concept of his own worth).
Stopping at a falconer, Avan speaks up, "You know, I can call forth an eagle as a scout? Only for a very short time, but enough for a quick search."
"I can also help you choose a bird that likes you. Let me speak with them first." When Faerydae has chosen a bird or two she likes, Avan casts his spell to Speak with Animals to see if they reciprocate the affection. He also asks all the birds around if the keeper has been nice to them.
In Character: Krusten looks at everyone taking items and just picks up a dagger. "I'll take this.... " She puts the +2 dagger in her hands and studies its make and feel while wiaitng for the party to finish their affairs. Then she gets a bright idea and asks the mage, "Do you have magical arrows or a bow - what cost?"
Avan is willing to trade for a heavy wooden shield. He thanks Tristan for the offer of cat shoes, but refuses.
"Sure Krusten," he says. "Take more if you want."
