Seeing what Zork is trying, Avan offers his new canvas tent as additional building materials. He secures the structure with his heavy pitons and rope then begins digging a trench around wagon to divert the water flow.
When satisfied that he will be dry for the night, he prays in reverence to the forces of nature that bring the darkness of the storm, but at the back of his mind he feels a twang of annoyance that the option of tracking these bandits is gone. If only he had known more druidic secrets, he could be the one controlling the clouds.
Krusten helps with some of the preparations for the camp and declares that she intends to get some rest now so she can be up when the storm comes.
In Character: Albrecht does not like the storm, and is visibly uneasy in its looming presence, constantly glancing up to see how long before it hits. He tries to help Zork and Avan as best he can with preparation, but can't reach up very high to lash the top, so resigns himself to helping with the pitons and digging the trench. He makes sure to pile all the dirt from digging the trench on the shelter side so as to give a barrier against flooding over the trench. Feeling that their shelter is as secure as possible, Albrecht asks if anyone else needs anything before setting about looking for his evening meal. He looks for berries and edible plants mostly, but if something more substantial presented itself, he would take it as an offering from nature.
Out of Character: By present itself, I mean if he could kill something more meaty, he would, but without any kind of ranged weapon, I think it would difficult for him. I know there are bows and arrows on the wagon, but they are too big for him. I am going to make checks for both Albrecht and Champ to be hunting (He has a +1 to survival and a +4 when tracking by scent (Which I assume he does when hunting food)).
Faerydae prays for safety and pulls her weight by contributing to the preparation whichever way she can.
In Character Arkanoth will lay out his bedroll as best as he can inside the wagon. "I will go ahead and take night watch, if there is something we missed stalking us I would say a storm is the best time to make a move." He will sit at the very front of the wagon and small talk to himself while the others rest, occasionally writing in his book of the past days events.
Zork examines the tree. If it is not overly large then his warhorse should be able to pull one end of it to the side of the road so the wagon can pass. He will borrow Avan's rope to accomplish this. If the warhorse is not enough then everyone pushing at the same time should be.
In addition to this Zork says, "Wait here, the ranger and I will go ahead some ways to make sure the road continues to be passable so we don't waste time."
They will go up to half a mile to make sure. Zork requests Krustens hawk to remain on the look out.
If moving the tree is a success then Krusten sends her bird ahead of the ranger and Zork. She watches her movements to see if they have trouble up ahead.
Albrecht hunkers down in the makeshift shelter with the others, feeling a bit cramped with everyone under the wagon. He manages to get at least rest for the full 8 hours, if not doze in and out of sleep between lightning strikes. As the rain abates, Albrecht finally settles down into a peaceful rest, not waking until first light. He gets up as is his usual routine and looks out over the camp, noting that nothing too bad seemed to happen. Taking this as a good sign, he goes and communes with nature, appreciating the rain and storm but thankful that not too much damage was done. As everyone else gets up and starts breaking camp, Albrecht returns to help, and realizes that a tree is down blocking their paths. He doesn't think he can be much help directly, but offers to help in whatever way he can.
