Born Free says...

Krusten isn't bothered by chopped heads, if it were up to her she would have also displayed the bodies in ritualistic fashion so anyone thinking they could do it again will have fear come to their bones. She sends her birdie forward to search the area.

She petitions if anyone wants the horse for themselves otherwise she will take him.

Krusten Results:

Dark Druid says...

"I know it's ironic," Avan admits. "But Krusten is right. We will have to prove our words somehow… "

Avan agrees with bagging the heads, but thinks tying them to the sides of the wagon would be better. Maybe 50/50.

Since we're packing the wagon full of arms and armor and the unconscious ranger, Avan will change his plans to have a short nap and only prepare half his spells.

Zork is surprised, "Hang them on the sides and attract all the animals?"

At the next camp site Zork instructs the driver to make sure he is on a hill in a good defensive position near trees. As usual he will make sound traps and offer to take the first watch. He offers everyone one cup of wine to ease their pains.

Dark Druid says...

For his single spell, Avan prepares Cure Light Wounds and uses it on himself. He uses two Cure Minor Wounds on the hired ranger to help him recover. That exhausts his spells.

At camp, Avan asks, "Is it really wise to stop here? Could we push on? We will get tired, but at least we will have more distance on any pursuers."
As usual, Avan offers to take last watch.

For the next day (If nothing happens at night), he swaps out Guidance for Detect Magic, Obscuring Mist for Cure Light Wounds, and Entagle for Speak With Animals.

He uses the spell to talk to Krusten's new horse, apologise for accidentally burning it, help adjust it to the party and to ask about its previous owner. If there's enough time left on the spell, he uses it to motivate the two horses pulling the wagon.

If we make it to afternoon, Avan expends his healing, Cure Light Wounds on the ranger, and two Cure Minor Wounds on himself. Then he casts Detect Magic over their recent haul, not sure what to expect.

Avan Ohek Results:
  • Cure Light wounds on D8 (+2): 10, 10 (2 rolls)
  • Listen on D20 (+8): 16 (1 rolls)
  • Spot on D20 (+8): 10 (1 rolls)
  • Handle Animal on D20 (+2): 15 (1 rolls)

The Third says...

Zork is happy that everyone was finally able to get rest. He orders the driver to get the horses hitched and to start making the way back. Next time a camp takes place it should be on a hill with the same defensive position but Zork is hoping they can get back to the town/city without having to camp again.

Zork III Results:
  • Spot on D20 (+1): 12 (1 roll)
  • Listen on D20 (+1): 4 (1 roll)

The Third says...

Zork is very pleased to make it back. The first thing he does is go to the local authorities and explain what happened and dispense with the heads.

The next he will go to the local tavern and get a good room, hot bath and so forth. Once that is done he plans to do some shopping!
