Dungeons & Dragons 3.5 Play By Post Party Leader - Page 202

Lukas arrived in town a few days ago. Having thoroughly experienced the local sights, he now wishes to find some other activity to occupy him. He asks around for rumors and the like that may peak his interest.

Dark Druid says...

Avan spontaneously converts his Wood Shape spell into Summon Natures Ally II, taking a full round and casting defensively. If he loses his focus on the first spell, he tries again, losing his Resist Energy spell.

He summons a Black Bear, with fur of the deepest matte black, behind spider 5, providing a flanking partner. He then lays into the spider with renewed vigor, his cat also trying to help.

Out of Character: I already added +2 to all the attack rolls for flanking.

Avan Ohek Results:
  • Concentration on D20 (+2): 20, 22, 15, 11 (4 rolls)
  • Quarterstaff attack on D20 (+6): 22, 12, 24 (3 rolls)
  • Quarterstaff damage on D6 (+2): 4, 4, 8 (3 rolls)
  • Bear Claw on D20 (+8): 26, 13, 25 (3 rolls)
  • Damage on D4 (+4): 7, 7, 6 (3 rolls)
  • Bear Claw on D20 (+8): 10, 16, 18 (3 rolls)
  • Damage on D4 (+4): 6, 8, 5 (3 rolls)
  • Bear Bite on D20 (+3): 14, 21, 10 (3 rolls)
  • Damage on D6 (+2): 3, 4, 8 (3 rolls)
  • Cat Claw on D20 (+9): 23, 12, 23 (3 rolls)
  • Cat Claw on D20 (+9): 10, 27, 18 (3 rolls)

Even with her best effort it wasn't her day as the spider was just superior to her own fighting skills. Faerydae falls off her horse unconscious.

Lukas frowns, he had planned on traveling eastward next. He could always take a different path, but would rather not let such creatures dictate his choices. He begins to ask more specific questions about the nature of the threat and what is being done about it.

Lukas you find that nothing is being done about any of the threats to the north or east due to the Earls men having their hands full with the bandits to the south. The town is on their own for now. They are not allowing any of the guard in town to leave the wooden walls.

Next inquiring as to anyone organizing, or who might be interested in organizing, a response. A dustup would be a welcome change of pace, and if it clears the path for his later use, so much the better. Additional funds would not be unwelcome as well.

Having few illusions concerning his own mortality, Lukas is primarily asking in the context of aiding a group of fighters rather than setting out on his own. Perhaps there is a local militia supplementing the regular guards?

Failing a positive response to those queries, he shall instead ask around for any… unusual jobs he may be able to handle himself.

Out of Character: P.S. As noted before, talking in general is a notable weakness of his. This is what he's attempting to find out, not necessarily what others think he's saying. Feel free to include communication gaffes if you are so inclined.
