In Character: Once he's closer to the group, he strides into melee while controlling his flaming sphere's motion with his mind to cause maximum chaos among the ranged attackers (Or melee if there are none ranged).

Out of Character: Avan and Aliana are out of combat range. They will hear the sounds of combat but it will take a couple rounds to get from the barricade to the area where the combat is taking place. Due to the trees you can not see anything till much closer.

No they ambushed you that gives them a AOO. Now that the AOO is over and they are charging I need initiative rolls from the main party. The initiative rolls from Avan and Aliana will be incorporated once they join in. The game will move forward once all initiative rolls are in or 2 days have passed. This has a potential of not being a short battle.
