While Faerydae is definitely not built for battle she doesn't want to let her friends down. She notices Aliana and attempts to dismount and heal her then she keeps shooting hoping that each arrow can do more than scratch.
Mr Fluffles falls in round 13.
Avan can see the end of the battle approaching. He announces, "We're almost through! Push forward and we can break their morale!"
He doesn't think Aliana nor his cat are in imminent danger of death, and he sees Faerydae helping her, so he goes up to Mr Fluffles and casts Cure Minor Wounds for 1 HP to make sure he doesn't bleed out.
Now that he is up close, he pulls out his quarterstaff and begins hitting enemies with it.
Out of Character: Rerolled Cure Moderate Wounds as well.
Not handling her wounds well she pauses to drink two potions this time. She resumes her attacks.
Albrecht sees Champ get hit, but his dog is made of tough stuff and gets back up to kill the hobgoblin Albrecht had been attacking. Hearing Avan say that they were almost through, Albrecht redoubles his effort, trying to finish off those around him, so that the ones with bows can start killing the entangled foes. Once again Champ and Albrecht team up to attack whoever they can nearby.
Out of Character: Again there's a mistake with my healing roll, the dice adds +3 to each roll, instead of to the total. So those were a 2 and 1, which is basically nothing. I probably shouldn't have entered melee, but we'll see what happens. Maybe I'll just heal when I'm hit again.
Refreshed from the potion and with new vigor from only seeing six left Zork says, "Let's get these and finish the day!"
Out of Character: I don't think I have been applying my strength bonus from the manual all this time. Corrected now.
Albrecht's strength seemed to be starting to flag, as he was having difficulty hitting the targets, but Champ rallied and made full use of Albrecht's distraction by attacking the hobgoblins from behind and finishing them off. As the last enemy falls, Albrecht looks around, and is dismayed to see that the ones he had entangled are still alive and the vines are releasing their victims. He can't believe so much time has passed, and that no one thought to take advantage. Before he gets too caught up feeling sorry for himself, he sets his jaw and wades back into combat, attacking the nearest goblinoid. He continues to use Champ to flank whatever enemies he can.
Out of Character: I thought tripping an enemy caused everyone nearby to get an AOO against that enemy as they fell, and another AOO as they tried to get up? Not that it mattered much for that particular guy, just wondering for the future.
