Dark Druid says...

Avan feels perfectly safe waist deep in the water - it's a natural feature after all. "No, no, not on horseback," he shakes his head. "That way," He points across the water to the waterfall. "Either accessed through the falling water, or a cave in the lake. Unfortunately, I didn't see any sign of movement underwater. Any tracks would certainly get filled in in minutes."

He holds his breath and goes deeper. Despite not being particularly adept at swimming, the water seemed calm enough.

Out of Character: Since we're not in combat, I assume I can take 10 on swimming for an 11 total.

Avan Ohek Results:
  • Spot/Listen on D20 (+9): 27, 19 (2 rolls)

Out of Character: Trying to swim underwater is not easy with the flow of the waterfall pulling water towards it and down. Do you wish to get caught up in that current by swimming underwater? You can feel some of the pull while walking towards the waterfall.

In a voice that won't carry far, Lukas says, "I think it may be best to send our smallest companion in for a look" Unless someone disagrees, he pulls Rudy out of his pocket and sends him in.

The psicrystal will climb the rock face beside the waterfall as high as it can manage without being caught up in the torrent of water, preferably above and away from any inhabitants normal line of sight, telepathically feeding information back to the Psion along the way.

Out of Character: climb speed of 20', tacking on a climb skill check just in case.

Dark Druid says...

Avan doesn't quite trust his ability to swim, so retreats from the pool. Seeing the ledge now that everyone is heading towards, he pulls out his bow. The front-on angle should have the best shot at any targets on the ledge. He shouts out to the others to share this info and suggests that one person should be nominated to draw any targets out.

The Third says...

"I saw something!" says Zork excitedly. "Someone needs to stay here with the horses, possibly Faerydae."

Zork dismounts, hands the reign to Faerydae and heads towards the cave via the ledge while braving whatever might be there.

The Wild Whisper says...

Hearing Lukas' suggestion, Albrecht starts to bristle at being volunteered to go in first, but then Lukas reaches in and pulls out his psicrystal. Albrecht had forgotten about the small psicrystal and was still mystified about how it worked, but Lukas trusted it and Albrecht had no reason to doubt Lukas. Albrecht calls out to the others, "Maybe we should allow our friend here to scout ahead, while we watch the entrance, then move forward."

Out of Character: Is the ledge wide enough for Champ to make it across? He is only medium sized. And if it is, would it be safe for Albrecht to stay mounted or should he dismount?

Albrecht Results:
  • Albrecht Spot on D20 (+8): 24 (1 roll)
  • Albrecht Listen on D20 (+4): 6 (1 roll)
  • Champ Spot & Listen on D20 (+5): 21, 13 (2 rolls)
